Princeton Senior High School Wins First Place at 28th Concord Business Challenge | State and region

ATHENS – The Business Department at Concord University has announced the winners of the 28th Concord Business Challenge.
The overall school winners are First Place, Princeton Senior High School; Second place, Greenbrier East High School; and third place, Bluefield High School.
The winners were announced at a virtual awards ceremony on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 11 a.m. by Dr. Susan Robinett, Chair of the Department of Business. The Concord Business Challenge (CBC) gives high school and high school students the opportunity to test their business knowledge base. The event traditionally takes place on the Athens campus of Concord, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students virtually participated in the 28th competition.
More than 260 students from West Virginia and Virginia representing ten schools have registered to compete. Participating schools include: Bland County High School, Bluefield High School, Princeton High School, Mercer County Technical Education Center, Fayette Institute of Technology, Independence High School, Woodrow Wilson High School, Greenbrier High School East, Greenbrier West High School and Monroe County Technical Center.
In addition to the winners from all of the schools, awards for each challenge exam and scholarship winners were announced during the virtual ceremony. Concord University’s $ 4,000 scholarship recipients are Samvat Yadav of Princeton Senior High School and Nicole Cochran of Greenbrier East High School.
The winners of the $ 1,000 scholarships at Concord University are: Shawn Hale, Mercer County Technical Education Center; Bradford Hurt, Princeton High School; Landon McCarty, Princeton Senior High School; Elijah Bauer, Princeton High School; Xander Lewis, Monroe County Technical Center; Carolina Disney, Princeton High School; Cadence Stewart, Greenbrier East High School; Timothy Riffe, Independence High School; Jamey Shrieves, Monroe County Technical Center; and Erica Hartwell, Princeton High School.
